Colors: dark red, red, light red, orange, indian yellow, yellow, parchment, brown
My inspiration for this painting is the intensity of heat and light that we feel from the sun--almost a yearning for its warmth. I also wanted to contrast light against dark and dark against light, and to build up a blend of color from pale yellow through orange and red to deep crimson. The painting is made up of several layers and drawn shapes that were then filled in with a very small brush.
Original Painting on Canvas: The canvas is stretched on heavy duty stretchers 1 1/2" thick, wrapped around and stapled on the back. The painting continues on all four sides, giving a three-dimensional effect when viewed from the side. No frame is required and the painting comes ready to hang.
