This painting has many layers and a combination of techniques. I first painted a pale background and then began adding spots of color to build up the image, focusing on the reds and oranges. But I felt a rush of excitement and began to jazz it up, adding lines and touches of blue. Then, to make the pale parchment colors "pop" I outlined them in Prussian blue. To me, this painting is all about movement and life energy.
